4. For the purposes of the Data Protection Laws, Computle is the “data controller”. This means that Computle determines the purposes for which, and the manner in which, your Data is processed.
Data collected
5. We may collect the following Data, which includes personal Data, from you:
- name;
- organisation name;
- contact information such as your email address;
- any message you choose to send us;
- account details for the Remotle Software, such as your name, email address and organisation, including those provided by Microsoft Entra ID when you sign in with it;
- technical information needed to set up and maintain Remotle connections, such as the IP addresses of the Remotle app and the Workstation (automatically collected);
- IP address when you visit the Website (automatically collected);
- web browser type and version (automatically collected).
What we do not collect
6. Remotle sessions are encrypted end to end with TLS 1.3. Only the screen image and keyboard, mouse and other input travel between your Workstation and the Remotle app. Your files and applications stay on your Workstation. Where a connection passes through Computle’s relays, the relays carry the encrypted session without access to its content.
The Remotle app and host
6A. The Remotle app and the Remotle host on your Workstations collect the following, as also set out in the privacy notice inside the app:
- your account: your name, email address, organisation and how you signed in, to confirm who you are and show the Workstations your organisation has given you;
- connection records: which Workstation you connected to, when, from which device and from which network address, to start and secure the connection and to diagnose connection faults;
- logs and telemetry: the app and the host keep logs and send them to Computle while they run, on Windows, Mac, iPad and Linux. They record what the software is doing, such as sign-in, connections, settings, connection quality, performance and faults, together with technical details of the device and Workstation such as hardware, operating system and software versions, and are linked to your account and organisation so that faults can be found without asking you;
- crash reports: if the app or host stops unexpectedly, a crash report about the software at that moment;
- USB devices: when you share a USB device, its make and model, USB identifiers, a one-way code made from its serial number, whether sharing worked, the app and driver versions, your email address and organisation, and a short log extract if sharing fails;
- problem reports: what you write, the app version, your support code, the Workstation concerned and, unless you turn it off, the app’s recent logs; and
- update checks: the software version and update channel.
6B. This information is stored in the United Kingdom and the European Union. Account information is kept while your account is active. Connection records are kept for 12 months after your account closes. Problem reports, logs and crash reports are kept for 24 months. USB device results are kept as the list of devices that work with Remotle; after 24 months your email address, organisation and any log extract are removed from them.

- if you are not satisfied with our approach to marketing, you have the right to withdraw consent at any time. To find out how, see the section headed “Your rights” below.
14. When you register with us and set up an account to use the Remotle Software, the legal basis for this processing is the performance of a contract between you and us and/or taking steps, at your request, to enter into such a contract.
